Visiting Fulbright Scholar in the CACSSS Graduate School for 2017/2018
Professor Kathleen Manning is Professor Emerita at the University of Vermont in the U.S. where she taught in the Higher Education and Student Affairs graduate program for 25 years. Her professional interests include social justice, international higher education, leadership, and organizational theory. Honored for her teaching with an award for excellence, Manning also received an Outstanding Contribution to the Literature and/or Research award, Pillar of the Profession, and LGBTQA and diversity advocacy awards. Manning taught and consulted internationally through Semester at Sea, Fulbright Fellowships, and international engagements. During her Fulbright at UCC, Dr. Manning will present seminars on resilience in global higher education. Dr. Manning has a Ph.D. in higher education administration with a minor in anthropology from Indiana University; an M.S. in counseling and student personnel services from the University at Albany; and a B.A. in biology from Marist College. She is an avid sailor, certified downhill ski instructor, and frequent international traveler.
