Teaching and Learning for Researchers 2014-2015

Dates:   Friday 17 October, Wednesday 5 November and Monday 24 November 2014

Course Duration:  5 x 2 hours (light lunch provided)

Tips for effective teaching and student engagement

   What's the use of lectures!?

   How will I know what the student knows?

   Theoretical underpinnings for effective teaching and learning

   How does the integration of research, teaching and learning benefit researchers?


The series will provide a Certificate of Completion to participants.

The Teaching and Learning Centre provides support for staff in their teaching roles, and their research into teaching and learning.

Learning outcomes:

At the end of this series participants will (among other things) be able to:

   Review different methods of teaching, learning and assessment

   Discuss strategies for use of IT in teaching and learning

   Develop strategies for self-assessment of teaching and student learning

   Identify structures within the university and beyond to support their role
