Support for the Cork Alzheimer's Cafe
UCC Biochemistry and Biotechnology Society Charity event 2019.
The Biochemistry and Biotechnology Society held a seminar on Alzheimer's on Tuesday 19th March. The speakers were Professor Cora O'Neill, School of Biochemistry and Cell Biology and Ms Siobhan Cahill from Cork Alzheimer's Café. Professor O’Neill gave an insight into the scientific research behind the neurodegenerative disease and Ms Cahill spoke about the Cork Alzheimer's Café.
Claire Cronin and Maeve O’Sullivan (Co-Chairs of the UCC Biochemistry and Biotechnology Society) presented a cheque for €1000 to Cork Alzheimer's Café, which was money raised from Outreach activities carried out by the 4th year Biochemistry students, Dr Sinéad Kerins and the School’s Outreach team.
