Shark research on TV

Tue, 26 Mar 2013

Blue SharkRTE’s Wildlife programme “Living the Wildlife” is currently showing on RTE 1 every Tuesday evening at 7pm.

This week’s episode (tonight at 7pm) focusses on the Blue shark (Prionace glauca). This episode was filmed out of Cork/Kinsale and features a couple of well know local charter boat skippers (Butch Roberts and Pat Condon) as well as appearances from UCC Researchers Dr Tom Doyle (CMRC) and Mr Luke Harman (School of BEES) highlighting a pilot scale satellite tagging project which could provide invaluable data on the behaviour of this truly charismatic oceanic species.

You can now view the episode featuring the Blue Sharks on the RTE Player (for a limited period). Click here.

For more information, see the programme website.
