BEES Student Wins Graduate of the Year

Peadar Brehony from the School of BEES has been awarded the College of SEFS Graduate of the Year Medal for 2011.
A zoology graduate, Peadar's extra-curricular activities in science/engineering related areas included: involvement in various voluntary zoological research projects in Kenya and Santa Barbara, California; setting up a programme where 5th yr students from Glenstal Abbey School volunteer in a secondary school in Tanzania during the summer months; represented UCC, in the under 20 level in junior rugby; active member of UCC Surf Club; participated in activities run by the UCC Mountaineering & Orienteering Clubs and a member of the Oneworld, Environmental and Photography Society.
Peadar was also awarded first class honours in his 4th year project and winner of the Maire F Mulcahy prize.
