The School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences is well known for the number, variety and quality of field-based learning opportunities which form a central component of all our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
For example, the School runs field courses in Co. Antrim, The Burren (Co. Clare), The Algarve (Portugal) and Millport Research Station (Scotland) as part of its undergraduate degree programmes. The School also runs a variety of shorter fieldtrips throughout the year.
BEES prides itself on providing students with an opportunity to gain first-hand experience of scientific research both in a laboratory setting and in the field. In the video below, Prof. John O'Halloran, Head of School, outlines the guiding principles behind BEES field courses.
