++ NEW ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES

This schedule does not govern the implementation of new academic programmes; following approval by the relevant College/ACE, outline proposals (i.e. Stage 1) for new academic programmes may be submitted to Academic Board for consideration at any point in the academic year; please refer to the Policies and Guidelines Governing Academic Programmes. Please note that completion of the approval process for new programmes may take between two to six months.

 New programmes intending to recruit international students must be approved in full no later than 12 May of the year of recruitment to ensure the programme is included in the Interim List of Eligible Programmes (formerly the International Register). This list is used by Immigration to grant immigration permission to Non EU/EEA students entering the country to pursue a programme of study.

New programmes can only be advertised, and students recruited, when the full programme proposal has been signed off by the Programme Approval Panel. Note: Following approval and final sign-off of a new postgraduate taught programme, it may take up to one week to finalise set up on PAC/ITS, etc.

The Policy and Procedures Governing New Academic Programme Approval may be found here

Following approval by the relevant College/ACE Board of Studies], all proposals for new academic programmes must be submitted to Academic Board for initial approval (i.e. Stage 1). See here for the schedule of AB meetings.
