Cork Folklore Project

What is the Cork Folklore Project?

The Cork Folklore Project (CFP) was founded in 1996 and is a non-profit community based organisation, who partners with the Department of Folklore and Ethnology, UCC and the Northside Community Enterprises.

What do we do?

We digitally record stories and memories from the people of Cork. To date we have collected over 900 hours of recordings on a range of subjects from stonemasons, hurling, social change, industry, road bowling, everyday life in the past and present and are recognised nationally and internationally for our high standard of folklore collection & dissemination.
