Leaving a Legacy

Leaving a Legacy

Since the founding of UCC in 1845, Legacy gifts, large and small, have helped shape the advancement of the University.  Generous alumni, staff, friends and supporters have left Legacies, recognising how the University has benefitted their lives, or the lives of others, regionally, nationally and internationally.

Please consider UCC in your will.  In so doing you will have no financial obligation during your lifetime but can make a significant contribution to an area that matches your own personal ideals.  Your Legacy could enable the enhancement of teaching, learning and research and make a significant impact to the lives of our students. It could also provide an opportunity to commemorate a family member or friend by naming a Legacy in their honour.

If you are an Irish resident, Legacies to UCC can be made through Cork University Foundation (CUF).  Similar arrangements can be made for US and UK residents.  UCC and CUF are exempt charities so legacies to them are not subject to the payment of inheritance taxes.
