Since 1845, legacy gifts have provided a vital source of funds for University College Cork (UCC). Many important bequests, large and small, have helped to shape the University from its foundation to the present day. Generous alumni, staff, friends and supporters have pledged legacies, recognising how the University has benefitted their lives or the lives of other regionally, nationally and internationally.
Please consider UCC in your will. In doing so you have no financial obligation during your lifetime but yet enjoy membership of the UCC Donor Stewardship Programme. Not only could your legacy enable the enhancement of teaching, learning and research, it could also provide an opportunity to commemorate a family member or friend by naming your legacy in their honour.
If you are an Irish resident, legacies to UCC can be made through Cork University Foundation (CUF). Similar arrangements can be made for US and UK residents. UCC and CUF are exempt charities so legacies to them are not subject to the payment of inheritance taxes.
