2004 UCC Alumni Achievement Awards
UCC celebrated the outstanding achievements of seven graduates on November 5th last at the 2004 UCC Alumni Achievement Awards Gala Evening. The Dinner and Awards Ceremony were held in Devere Hall, following a welcoming reception in the Lewis Glucksman Gallery. Alumni Awards were presented to the following seven graduates, one from each faculty, in recognition of their distinguished achievements:
NUALA Ní DHOMHNAILL (BA '72, HDE '73) - Poet & Writer. Writer in Residence UCC 1994/5. Member PoetryIreland, Irish Writers’Union & Aosdana.
AIDAN SYNNOTT (BCL '85)– Partner, Litigation Department, Paul Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP,New York.
SEAN O’DRISCOLL (BComm '79)- Chief Executive Glen Dimplex Group –Ireland’s largest privately owned business, with a worldwide turnover of €1.5 Billion.
DR JAMES MOUNTJOY (BE '68, MEng Sc '69, PhD '72) - Entrepreneur & Technology Investor. Founder & Chief Executive Euristix, Co-Founder & Former MD Baltimore Technologies. Chairman & Major Shareholder of Tsunami Photonics. Chairman Prospectus Strategy Consultants
