New creative talent to enhance Arts programmes at UCC
02 Oct 2019Novelist Danny Denton, filmmaker Alan Gilsenan and traditional musician Danny O’Mahony have joined UCC as artists-in-residence for the 2019/2020 academic year. Jointly funded by UCC and the Arts Council, the artist-in-residence programmes aim to provide university students with an opportunity to work with and learn from professional artists of distinction, and to give the artists time, space and funding to develop their work. Sara Maitland has been appointed as the 2019 Frank O'Connor International Short Story Fellow and is sponsored by Cork City council and the Munster Literature Centre.

Launch of College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences Research Facility on Wandesford Quay
02 Oct 2019UCC President Professor Patrick O’Shea, with Vice President for Research and Innovation Professor Anita Maguire of UCC launched the new College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences research facility in Wandesford Quay on Monday, 3 September 2019.

Major careers and life-wide skills programme launched at UCC
02 Oct 2019On 24 September, University College Cork launched the Graduate Attributes Programme which will advance the development of students’ academic, specialist and technical competencies, equipping them with transferrable skills that can be applied in life-wide contexts.
