Nicola Stathers graduated with a BA in Design, History & Theory, magna cum laude, from UC Berkeley, and a dual MSc in International & World History, awarded jointly in 2013 by the London School of Economics and Columbia University. Subsequently she has worked in London, Ireland and Washington DC, applying her extensive social science background to project management roles with a range of corporate and non-governmental organizations. Her specialist skills include design thinking, strategic development, content production and digital marketing. She is a qualified Prince2© Project Manager.
Since joining UCC Academy in 2015, Nicola has served as digital project manager and content editor in several major University branding initiatives including: Cork University Business School, Cork Science and Innovation Park, the 1916 Centenary Commemorations, and the 200th anniversary of George Boole in 2015, the website for which was the first in Ireland be linked from a Google Doodle.
Nicola took a career break in 2019, during which she gained invaluable experience with the WP Brandstudio at the Washington Post, as a project manager focused on US clients, operations and reporting. On returning to UCC Academy, Nicola has taken up a leading role with the marketing and communications team in the UCC Project Centre.
