Communications Project Manager
Judie Russell graduated from UCC in 2006 with a Masters in Economics. Over the next five years, she lived and worked in 11 countries from New Zealand to Hawaii. In Costa Rica, she became a broadcasting journalist and managed a team of six in creating over 100 minutes of video content weekly. She returned to Ireland in 2011 and trained in TV Production and then went on to produce, present and direct a weekly magazine show broadcast on SKY. She spent summer 2015 working as part of the small team behind Irish box office hit ‘The Young Offenders’ and has since set up a consultancy business where she trains professionals on how to create videos using smartphones. She has spoken at international conferences including MojoCon and Office Expo and she lectures a Communicating Economic Reasoning module in UCC.
Having joined UCC Academy in 2016, Judie has managed various projects including organising the world’s largest marine energy conference, EWTEC 2017, which attracted over 500 national and international delegates to campus. Judie has since led the awareness campaign for Cork Discovers, a European Researchers’ Night and is currently managing UCC Academy’s communications project. Judie is a certified Prince2 Project Management Practitioner, an active Toastmaster and a podcast enthusiast.
