Head of Shanghai Office
Dr Haibo Huang is a PhD graduate in Geography from UCC and holds a bachelor’s degree from Nanjing Normal University, China, and a master’s from Leicester, UK. He specialised in geoinformatics and worked with research communities in several countries, including Ireland and China in particular. Apart from working as a teaching assistant in the Department of Geography, UCC, he also gained valuable experience as part-time Project Manager of the Irish Institute of Chinese Studies and the UCC Confucius Institute, which equips him with a rich experience of coordinating and facilitating inter-cultural activities.
Since 2014, Haibo has been based in Shanghai as UCC’s Chief Representative and Head of its East China Office. In this role he promotes UCC throughout China, and facilitates a broad range of educational and cultural projects, working closely with Cork City Council, Shanghai Municipality and the Irish Consulate General.
