Ciarán Kavanagh is a graduate of UCC, with a Bachelors in English and History, a Masters in English Modernities, and a PhD in Literary Theory. Ciarán's doctoral research developed analytical methods for examining the variability of reading experiences held by texts, with a focus on postmodernism and science fiction. Ciarán taught widely during his time in UCC and has delivered courses and tutoring for the English Department, Skills Centre, Disability Support Services, School of Public Health, and more. Following his PhD, Ciarán worked as a Technical Writer with Johnson Controls International, where he developed technical documentation for a wide range of hardware, software and services.
Ciarán joined the Prime team in May 2021. As a Development Officer, he supports the writing, editing and development of Academy-supported research proposals.
