UCC Academy Graduate Development Programme 2021

3 Jun 2021

After the successful launch of its graduate programme in 2020, UCC Academy is once again offering graduates the opportunity to join University College Cork’s in-house consultancy.

As part of UCC Academy’s Graduate Development programme, which you can apply for here, four positions have been created to respond to significant business growth in key strategic areas.

The innovative two-year graduate programme will offer graduates the opportunity to work on key projects that support the University’s strategic goals while taking part in the prestigious IMI Graduate Development Programme.

To support their professional and personal development, those that are invited to join the programme will also have access to an executive coach to help them define, develop and drive their careers.

A year after initially joining the programme, Ian Dooley said that “the UCC Academy Graduate Programme has given me the opportunity to work on client projects that matter, and in this way I can see how my contributions make an impact, which helps with job satisfaction”.

“The wide variety of skillsets on the team, from graphic design to change management expertise, has broadened my perspective for what is possible in my career.

I also get an opportunity to work with graduates from other organisations through the IMI Programme, which has taught me practical skills that I can apply on the job”.

Reflecting on how the programme has broadened her skillset, Aoife Tierney said “since I have joined the UCC Academy Graduate Programme I have gained experience with the Project Centre and Creative Services Teams”.

“As a member of these teams, I have worked on a variety of projects, for a broad range of clients.

I have gained a phenomenal insight into how a large organisation such UCC operates, from the unique perspective of working with a small team in a rapidly growing company within this larger organisation.

I have developed a range of new skills and I have been provided with the opportunity to further enhance the skills and knowledge which I developed in my undergraduate degree.

I have developed into my role as Graduate Project Analyst and am delighted to work with my co-workers in UCC Academy to provide high-quality services to our clients”.

In line with the goals of the programme and the growth of the company, the incoming UCC Academy Graduates will specialise in one of the following streams.
