Curriculum Management Operations Group (CMOG)
Terms of Reference and Membership
1. Establishment
The Curriculum Management Operations Group (CMOG) is a sub-committee of the Academic Board’s Academic Development and Standards Committee (ADSC).
2. Reporting
The CMOG shall provide a report annually to ADSC. CMOG will also submit policy and procedural change proposals for approval to ADSC as required.
3. Membership
Membership shall comprise:
i. Chair of ADSC as the ex-officio Academic Lead.
ii. A professional services Chair appointed by the Deputy President & Registrar.
iii. Academic Secretary & Assistant Registrar as an ex-officio member.
iv. Chairs of the four Colleges Curriculum Committees & ACE Academic Standards Board as ex-officio members.
v. One nominated professional services representative from within each College and School.
vi. One nominated professional services representative from each of the offices within Academic Services and Recruitment Admission.
4. Terms of Reference
I. CMOG will draft and submit to ADSC the annual schedule governing approval, validation and configuration of the University Curriculum for the following Academic Year. If approved, ADSC will submit to Academic Board.
II. At every meeting of CMOG, members of the group will update on the current cycle of curriculum change to ensure the schedule is being adhered to and where issues arise to ensure their early identification and resolution of same.
III. Members of the group will advocate for an even and consistent use of policy and procedure across the University. They will also advocate for changes to our operating model to meet new and emerging needs. Working collaboratively members will share knowledge and help remove impediments to progress.
IV. Members’ input will help guide and prioritise the work of Academic Services in terms of user training, documentation and system changes so that policy and process understanding as well as usage of our new software systems are all maximised.
V. Members of CMOG will formally propose procedural and policy changes via the Academic Lead to ADSC, where necessary.
VI. Members will also be required to consider and feedback to ADSC on how potential policy changes might best be operationalised.
The purpose of this CMOG is to further strengthen cross-functional communication and understanding of curriculum management policies and procedures in UCC.
5. Schedule of Meetings
In Semester 1 CMOG will meet monthly, one week in advance of ADSC meeting.
In Semester 2 CMOG will continue to meet as above but will have option to increase the frequency as the cycle of change draws to a close.
6. Administrative Support
Mary Costello, Academic Services, will provide secretariat support.
