The MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy programme recently had its first examination board as a collaborative programme between University College Cork and the Turning Point Training Institute (TPTI).

While this Masters programme is validated and awarded by UCC, students attend this programme on a part-time basis in the Turning Point Training Institute, Dublin.

Those who travelled to Cork for the summer examination board included Kay Conroy, Director TPTI; Gearoid Manning, Programme Director TPTI; Dr Anne O’Connor, lecturer TPTI; and the external examiner for the programme, Prof Simon du Plock, Head of Post-Qualification Doctorates Department at the Metanoia Institute in London.

Turning Point Training Institute (TPTI), a Dublin-based organisation providing counselling and psychotherapy services, as well as training to future mental health professionals, partnered with UCC in 2014. TPTI was co-founded by Kay Conroy and Mary Paula Walsh, who has been Programme Director of the MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy since its inception.

Graduates of TPTI's flagship programme, the MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, include acclaimed Irish soprano Virginia Kerr from Co. Meath.
