Cervantes published his twelve 'Exemplary Tales' in 1613, between Parts I and II of Don Quijote (1605 & 1615). They are generally considered to be his finest work apart from his masterpiece. They have mysterious quality, which Cervantes himself alludes to his Prologue. The course will concentrate on examining this aspect of three selected stories.
