Staff and their Research Interests.



Colin Bradley MD, MICGP Professor of General Practice.
Professor Bradley graduated from Trinity College, Dublin in 1981. He undertook vocational training for general practice on the Vocational Training Scheme in Cork. From 1985-1992 he was as a lecturer in general practice at the University of Manchester under Professor David Metcalfe. From 1992-1997 he was a senior lecturer in general practice at the University of Birmingham under Professor Richard Hobbs.

His main research interests are in the field of general practitioner prescribing and quality assurance in general practice. His MD was on general practitioners' decision making processes with regard to prescribing . He has, with Professor Pringle of Nottingham University, developed a methodology for case-based audit for use in primary care. He has also undertaken studies of how new drugs are introduced into clinical practice and into attitudes and behaviours with regard to over-the-counter medicines.

Joe Moran MB, MClSc, MICGP. Lecturer in General Practice (part time)/General Practitioner, Fermoy, Co. Cork. Post Graduate training in general practice in the Wessex Vocational Training Scheme, England and the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, under Dr. I. McWhinney. Immediate previous appointments: Associate Professor, Department of Family Medicine, University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Manitoba and Program Director, Family Medicine Residency Program, St. Boniface General Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Research interests: The early detection of colorectal cancer in primary care/the measurement of quality of care in primary care.
