Welcome to the new UCC Tennis Club Website!! About time :)
We're a vibrant club with up to 50 regular players of all standards. Once again this year a high standard has been set and we look forward with optimism to the coming year and wish all of our members every success.
As there are no tennis courts on campus, we currently use the facilities of Sunday's Well Tennis Club. This picturesque club is located next to the Mardyke and has eight all weather tennis courts. It was here in 1999, 2004 and 2008 that UCC hosted the annual Intervarsities.

The Intervarsities are an annual event where colleges pit themselves against each other to win the Intervarsity Cup. Its held every year in February/March, this year Dublin is hosting the event. The club usually enters at least two ladies and two mens teams, which allows at least twenty four members to travel to the week long event. It is the highlight of the college year!!!
Last year the Intervarsities were held in the picturesque setting of Belfast. The mens team put up a brilliant performance and were beaten in the semi-final by eventual champions DCU. The ladies team also played very well and were beaten in the quarter-final by Trinity College.
DCU Ladies would eventually take the title for the fifth year running. Well done to them.
Since the turn of the century the Intervarsities have been dominated by DCU team's, but hopefully this year we might be able to change that!!
