Mystery Tour

Dangerous Knowledge

The Mathsoc showed a DVD called "Dangerous Minds". Its a documentary following the lifes of 4 great mathematicians, George Cantor, Lodwig Boltzman, Kurt Gödel and Alan Turing.

Superbrain

The 25th and final Des Machale Superbrain had record attendence of 48 people. It was a tricky paper but I think everybody got at least one question fully out, the Sudoko anyone

Superbrain Solutions

The solutions to the Superbrain turned out to be a big hit. The prizes were awarded and there was a reception outside afterwards.

Mathscup - Playoffs

The playoffs were held just before the Ball. The 1st years beat the 4th years and the 3rd years beat the 2nd years. Stay tuned for the final.

IMSA 2008

8th to the 10th February 2008, UCD

IMSA was held in UCD this year. It was a lot of fun with talks from some of the major colleges in Ireland.

Boole Prize 2008

Congratulations to Cillian McNamara who won first place in the Boole Prize with his talk, Stocjastic Differential Equations.

MCM 2008

15th to the 18th February 2008

This year three teams enterred the MCM. One team from fourth year, and two teams from second year. All three teams chose to do the project on Gloabl Warming and change in sea level. The other option was a project on creating soduku.
