Older Mathsoc Committee's
2005-2006
Auditor - Danny Gleeson
Maths and Physics, Third Year
Danny first motion as Auditor of the Mathsoc was suggesting we invest in an autitors chain. Needless to say, we didn't go for it. Too philosoph like. He did then go on then and organise a good few events. We went along with those.
Vice Auditor - Colm Kelleher
Maths and Physics, Second Year
The idea of a vice-auditor is that they become the auditor next year. Oh but not Colm, he jets off to America for a year to study maths there. Colm likes to screw the system.
Treasurer - Ricky Riordan
Maths and Physics, Forth Year
We are not entirely sure how Ricky was put in charge of the mathsoc finance. Was everyone asleep at the time? The mathsoc money was spent alright that year, we just don't know where.
Social Secretary - Hannah Daly
Maths and Applied Maths, Second Year
What can I say, party girl Hannah organised all the mathsoc parties. She handles balls like a dream. For more information you can contact Hannah at 087-1234567.
PRO - Danny Lynch
Maths and Physics, Second Year
Danny managed to reinvented the mathsoc notice board. All it took were some posters and some top-notch photos from the mathsoc events. The bottom of the Kane Building will never be the same again.
Secretary - Stephen Casey
Maths and Physics, Second Year
Technically speaking, Stephen should not have gotten this position as you are supposed to have been a committee member previously. But he prepared such a good speech that we had to leave him do it. "But i'm really good at writing stuff down"
Comps - Seamus O Ceallaigh
Maths and Applied Maths, Forth Year
Back from his sabatical year off in the students union, Seamus managed to concentrate on both his final exams and all of our mathsoc competitions. Tough going!!
Bookings - Olga Seleznova
Maths and Applied Maths, Second Year
Olga block booked a room for the Mathsoc at the beginning of the year. Then she didn't have to do any more work. Smart girl.
Webmistress - Samantha Lam
Maths and Applied Maths, Third Year
It was very hard to get this photo of Sammi. Somehow she attends all the mathsoc events, plently of photos are taken, yet she manages to never appear in any of them.
Postgrad Rep - Tommy Murphy
BA Maths and Economics, Masters
Apparantly Tommy was on this committee but I don't think any of the rest of us remember ever seeing him. He was one of those silent committee members.
1st Year Rep - James Neill
Mathematical Sciences, First Year
There always has to be a first year on the mathsoc committee. Just so we have someone to taunt and make them do stuff. Poor auld James, he got the job this year.
OCM - Ashling Dolan
Maths and Philosophy, Second Year
Being our only OCM that wasn't joined some political party, Ash was the only one around to get stuck with those tricky jobs. Needless to say, she always got them done.
OCM - JP McCarthy
Maths and Physics, Second Year
One of our more politically motivated people, JP was heavily involved with the PD's. Bad one about that last general election.
OCM - Stephen Crowley
Maths and Applied Maths, Second Year
Stephen is one of those guys that really likes college way too much. His main ambition is to spend the rest of his life in UCC as an undergraduate....and in fairness he is doing a pretty good job at it.
Ex Officio - Jerry Buckley
Maths and Physics, Forth Year
Jerry having completed one full year as auditor created a new committee positon at the AGM for himself. He must have thought that "Oifgeach na Gaelige" would be an easy score. However he got contested and we all had to vote. He almost lost it too.
