The 2000 season will stand in memory as one of the wettest is history. It raining constantly. Not even Lowe Alpine's finest could keep that kind of rain out. Still, we managed to get out quite a bit. Until the Foot & Mouth struck the UK and Ireland, and then everything came to a grinding halt (though it did mean the committee didn't have to fess up to selecting a condemned firetrap for the weekend away). The big highlight of the year was probably getting rescued on Hungary hill. It's not as bad as it sounds. We got a great feed in Breen's in Castletownbere and had the best sing-song of the year on the bus back. It was great, we should do it every year (only joking!).
