About

Aikido embraces the philosophy of non-violence/aggression by providing practitioners with techniques which focus on neutralising the force and aggression behind any attack, without resorting to brute force or highly injurious tactics.

The UCC Aikido club has been running since 1991, operating under the simple philosophy of: Providing a responsible source of Aikido, committed to the development of its students, in an atmosphere of mutual trust, friendship and learning.

A keikogi (white suit) is not necessary for training – just comfortable clothing that is not too loose. Training is on a fully matted area to allow safe break falling and throwing.

Beginners are welcome throughout the year.
