In support of its mission, the Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) works to encourage the disclosure of new inventions from the university research community. The decision to obtain patents and to commercialise the university's intellectual property is made based on the OTT's assessment of the commercial opportunity.

The OTT, working with the inventors, manages the Intellectual Property and the Commercialisation process from research lab to market place.
