University College Cork set up the Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) in 2007 replacing the previous Industrial Liaison Office.  Supported by Enterprise Ireland, the office has an expanded remit and team. The OTT aims to support the university in all aspects of technology transfer and industrial interaction.

Technologies are commercialised through the support of case managers dedicated to technology areas.  Currently the major demand for our services is in Life Sciences, ICT and Physical sciences and our organisation reflects this.  The Technology Transfer efforts of the office are supported by Enterprise Ireland who have commercialisation specialists active in particular technology niches that liaise with the UCC case managers on an ongoing basis. The case managers are available to all research teams within UCC including all the research centres such as Tyndall National Institute and the Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre.

The central technology transfer services provide support for the case managers and director in executing the office mission and provide advice and input to the wider university community on IP and technology transfer related matters.
