BioPIC 2013 INTERNATIONAL BIO-IMAGING CONFERENCE

ANNUAL NAP SCIENTIFIC WORKSHOP

Location: Tyndall National Institute

 

Registration is now open for the 8th Annual National Access Programme (NAP) Scientific Workshop which will take place at the Tyndall National Institute in Cork on Wednesday 30th January 2013.


Starting at 10:30am the morning workshop will feature 6 projects delivered during 2012. There will be a tour of the research facilities after lunch and an opportunity to meet with Tyndall researchers to discuss potential projects.

19.03.2013 | DOBBIN SCHOLARSHIPS 2013

 

The Craig Dobbin Scholarships, which are offered by the Ireland Canada University Foundation, are awards designed principally for young scholars and academics in any discipline who are currently engaged in research, including postgraduate research, in a discipline which is, or has potential to be, related to both Ireland and Canada, or who are commencing such research.  

The scholarships can be used for travel from Irish to Canadian universities or institutions for short periods to support the relevant research, and are valued at up to €4,200.

25.02.2013 | MAJOR SUCCESS FOR UCC'S RESEARCH CENTRES

 

UCC is to lead four of the seven centres and to co-lead a fifth in SFI’s largest joint state/industry research investment (€300m) in Irish history.

The Minister for Enterprise and Jobs, Mr Richard Bruton and the Minister for Research and Innovation, Sean Sherlock, announced details of Science Foundation Ireland’s largest joint state/industry research investment in Irish history. State investment of €200m will be matched by a contribution of some €100m by the business sector over the next six years. The Ministers announced that seven centres will be funded, from more than 80 applications submitted in 2012.

University College Cork is to lead four of the seven centres and to co-lead a fifth and partner the remaining two.
