About Us
University College Cork (UCC) is a world-class research-led University that plays a key role in the development of Ireland’s knowledge-based economy. Our research strategy is focused on creating major centres of excellence for world-class research and is aligned with key Government strategies including the Strategy for Science Technology and Innovation (SSTI), Building Ireland’s Smart Economy and the Report of the Innovation Taskforce. The impact of this strategy and its implementation is reflected in UCC’s success in winning competitive internationally peer-reviewed research contracts (over €83 million in 2009/2010), and by the major contribution of the University in attracting inward investment to Ireland and facilitating significant regional development. The Research Support Services function within the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation seeks to provide the University community with research support through information, assistance, guidance and advice on all aspects of the planning, execution, sustaining and application of research Staff Profiles:
