EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENT New knowledge to address a key question – to what extent does low biochemical status for vitamin K which is commonly observed in the population, especially among older people, affect calcium and bone metabolism and whether this is influenced by increasing dietary intake of vitamin K? It will also provide improved knowledge on dietary requirements for vitamin K, and inform the development of dietary guidelines for osteoporosis prevention.
