What do we mean by the term Infrastructure?
Infrastructure refers to the basic supporting
structures and facilities within the community that enable its everyday
functioning. The physical infrastructure encompasses roads, public
transport, water services, waste, telecommunications and energy
networks, housing and health, amongst others. The social and cultural
infrastructure refers to the education systems, the recreational
and social activities and facilities, cultural societies, and so
forth.
