Who
is involved in how Bantry Bay coastal zone is governed?
There are several structures of governance
within the Bantry Bay coastal zone. These operate at
different levels, from the local to the national level.
The organisation of government at national level
involves a sectoral approach with specific
allocations of responsibility given over to various government Departments
such as Health,
Education etc. There are 13 such Departments, all of which have a responsibility
within the Bantry
Bay coastal zone area, some more directly than others. The co-ordination
of the policies developed
by the various Departments and agencies of the State is addressed in several
ways including,
cabinet sub committees, interdepartmental committees and task forces and
Ministers of state with
cross-Department briefs. |
