Introduction

The APC’s Education and Outreach Programme aims to promote an understanding and interest in APC research, and the role of science in society, through communication with stakeholders.

Education and Outreach to industry and society form a fundamental cornerstone of APC activities. This Programme actively engages with Irish and international industry, policy makers/government, the medical community and patient groups, and the general public, in particular schools, on issues relating to gastrointestinal health and disorders, probiotics and functional foods. In addition it aims to keep the public aware of new therapeutic agents, ongoing clinical trials and exciting new research findings.

Education and Outreach is a responsibility of ALL staff and students in the APC. Planning, coordination and delivery of all activities are carried out by a dedicated Ed & O team
