Executive Management Group
A large part of the APC’s success is due to the frequent meetings of the Executive Management Group (EMG) which meets weekly every Friday morning. This frequency, and the presence of senior management from both UCC and Teagasc, ensures that APC management can respond quickly to any opportunities or issues and facilitates rapid decision-making. The current composition of the EMG is –
- Prof. Fergus Shanahan
Chairperson (APC Director) - Prof. Paul Ross
Director of Teagasc Food research and APC PI - Prof. Colin Hill
APC PI - Prof. Ted Dinan
APC PI - Prof. Anita Maguire
Vice President for Research and Innovation, UCC
Prof. Gerald Fitzgerald (APC Deputy Director), Dr. Sally Cudmore (APC General Manager), Dr. Sharon Sheahan (APC IP Co-ordinator), Mr Brendan Cremen (Director of Technology Transfer, UCC) and Ms. Andrea Doolan (APC Clinical Trials Manager and Ed&O) also attend these weekly meetings. Ms. Mary Hough/Ms Deirdre Ryan (APC Financial Administrators) attend when required to provide financial updates. The independent investigators from each of the core groups also report to the EMG on a rotating basis. Other individuals are invited to the meeting as required, e.g. industry representatives, new UCC PIs etc.
