13th-century gold and enamel pendant reliquary depicting St. George, from Thessaloniki. The reliquary originally contained holy oil (myrrh) from the Church of St. Demetrius at Thessaloniki. Its lid depicts St. Demetrius as does its interior. The full inscription on the reliquary reads: "Anointed with your blood and oil, the bearer begs you to be his warm defender in battles." It is now in in the Department of Medieval and Later Antiquities at British Museum, London.
