Education for Special Needs: The Law and the Reality

Content:  This Seminar will look at the recently enacted Education for Persons with Special Educational Needs Act, 2004; its interaction with existing education legislation; difficulties encountered in obtaining entitlements faced by children/persons with special needs; the role of statutory bodies such as the National Education Welfare Board and the National Council for Special Education and the role of the courts, now and in the future. The Seminar should be of interest to the partners in education as well as lawyers.
