Conversion into HTML
Files prepared in the
following formats can be converted:
- RTF (Rich Text Format)
- RTF is a proprietary but publicly-defined text storage format from
Microsoft, which describes visual appearance but not structure. It is
available as an output file option in MS-Word, WordPervert and many
other wordprocessors and DTP systems. The rtftohtml
program converts such files, but some post-editing is needed to insert
the structure which is missing from wordprocessor files.
- LaTeX
- LaTeX is part of the TeX typesetting
system. Nikos Drakos' latex2html
is available from Leeds University and converts LaTeX files (including
mathematics): the maths appears as little graphics in the text.
- FrameMaker
- Frame is a desktop publishing system. Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner's fm2html is available from Norwegian Telecom Research.
