Staff Noticeboard - Staff Presentations
Dr Maeve Conrick, French, was invited to give a lecture entitled La féminisation des titres et des textes: acquisition et analyse de données, at the Department of French, University of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Ursula Kilkelly, Law, gave a paper entitled, The Best of Both Worlds for Children's Rights? Interpreting the European Convention on Human Rights in the light of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, at the conference A Question of Conscience: Making a better life for all children - an International Conference on the Rights of the Child, held in the University of Dayton, Ohio, USA.

Dr Anita Maguire, Chemistry, was invited to give a lecture at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals Global Development Team Meeting, held in Cork on Turning Unexpected Reactions into Useful Synthetic Transformations.

Professor Mairtín Ó Fathaigh, Director, Adult & Continuing Education, gave a paper at the National Conference of the Irish Institute of Training & Development entitled, E-learning and Access: Some Issues and Implications, held in Dublin. Professor Ó Fathaigh also presented a paper to the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development Southern Chapter held in UCC. His paper was entitled Workplace Learning: Issues and Approaches.

Dr David Sheehan, Biochemistry, was invited as expert grant reviewer for the EU Fifth Programme in Brussels on key action, Sustainable Marine Ecosystems, under the Environment Research Programme. Dr Sheehan was also invited as a platform speaker at the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry meeting in Madrid, Spain. The title of his presentation was Antioxidant protein bioindicators of chemical pollution in bivalve molluscs: the role of seasonality.
