SUMI Products and Services

Online service

This is a service housed at University College Cork, the url of which is sumi.ucc.ie/en/ (for the English language version - other language versions are coming onstream with demand.) You can see the questionnaire on this link but you'll need a password to be able to send data.

This service provides a detailed report as a collection of html pages.

Apply to HFRG for a password, specify the start and end dates, and agree on a contractual date for the delivery of the final report. The cost of this service is € 650 + VAT per report.

Online student service

Please remember that having a SUMI evaluation done for nothing is a gift I choose to award to a fellow academic, it is not a right for you to have! If you are a student, I need to be sure that you are doing bona-fide academic research that will lead to a qualification, preferably with a publication to follow. If you are a teacher or professor, then please contact me at jzk@ucc.ie for a discussion about how we can work together to provide an educational SUMI service to your students. Please read the details on the academic applications page. You do not need to fill out an order form for this service.

Offline service

This service is primarily intended for labs who want to do a quick in-house test. You will get a questionnaire in pdf form and a licence for the period of your data collection. You make as many copies of the questionnaire as you need. When you have gathered your data, you sent a file of data to HFRG who will then produce a standard SUMI output and send it back to you by e-mail.

The required formats for sending data to HFRG are given on the formats page. If data is not provided in this format, it can't be analysed.

Dates for submitting and sending data back must be agreed upon beforehand. The usual turn-around time can be very short (a few hours) if you have arranged this beforehand with HFRG. The cost of this service is € 1,300 + VAT.

Customised service

For a large scale survey, or a survey with additional questions, you will have to contact Dr Jurek Kirakowski at jzk@ucc.ie to discuss your survey and get a quotation for the cost of it. Customisation will include:

Your own URL at UCC, so for instance, sumi.ucc.ie/mysurvey.
Your participants won't need to enter passwords, and if you provide us with a list of emails, we can send personal invitations.
You can add additional questions at the foot of the SUMI questionnaire to address areas of special concern to you.
The SUMI page can incorporate your company logo and direct participants to a page of your choice at the end of the SUMI.

Each has been carefully translated and validated in the target language by native speakers of the language. Please do not attempt to translate SUMI into another target language without consulting Dr Kirakowski.

Online versions are created on demand, as the need arises. Help with creating online versions in the above target languages is always appreciated - all that is required is a translation of a few additional questions and some error messages.

Ordering procedure

Please remember to give your VAT number if you are within the Euro zone.
Include a purchase order from your institute or company, on official headed paper, stating the reference number from your institute or company for your order.
Fax the documentation to 00 353 21 427 0439 marked "SUMI Services - HFRG" or scan as pdf and send to jzk@ucc.ie with the subject line "SUMI Services."
We won't supply a SUMI service until the above details are correctly submitted and verified by us.
You will be invoiced when the service is supplied. Our terms are net 30 days.
We regret we can't accept credit cards or PayPal. Euro cheques must be drawn on an Irish bank. Cheques and Bank Drafts are acceptable in US$. Please see Finance.yahoo.com/m3 for an up-to-the minute currency converter. If paying in a non-Eureo currency please add Euro 40 to cover bank charges.
