  1. How do you get benchmarking data for the development of innovative systems?

Firstly, collect benchmarking data for traditional, e.g. paper-based systems. You can measure the number of functions provided by traditional systems, the performance of using a traditional system (e.g. time to search, time to access information), and subjective user preferences. This data can be used as a baseline for designing the electronic system and later for the comparison of measurement data for the electronic system with the benchmarking data.

Secondly, perform benchmarking with similar electronic systems if these are available on the market. Perform the same benchmarking procedure described above. Similar electronic systems may already be equipped with additional functionality which is not available in traditional systems. The benchmarking data may therefore be more useful for you.
