University College Cork is committed to excellence in fulfulling its education mission. The University offers superb facilities for teaching and learning and outstanding facilities for sports and recreation, which provide the ideal environment for the serious scholar and committed sportsperson.  The University supports ability in academic scholarship and excellence in sporting achievement by offering a range of scholarships to new students and to ongoing students.  These scholarships provide valuable financial assistance to scholarship holders, which help to offset the costs of attending university.

Academic scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit.  Sixty Entrance Scholarships are awarded on the results of the Leaving Certificate Examination, each valued at €2,000.  Academic Scholarships and University Prizes are awarded on ongoing students on the basis of their university examination results.

Sports Scholarships are awarded on the basis of exceptional sporting ability to students who secure a place in UCC through the CAO system.  Sports Scholarships are awarded on the basis of sports performance, in value up to €2,000.  Sports Scholarships may be renewed each year subject to certain standards being achieved.  In addition the Rugby Academy offers financial support to Academy members.
