Is it possible to become involved in sport at UCC?
The range of activites offered by the Department of Sport located at the Mardyke Arena is vast with over fifty sports clubs and over forty recreational activities from which to choose. Apart from the magnificent indoor facilities in the Arena, UCC has seventy acres of outdoor playing fields. Participation in some form of physical activity is strongly encouraged as you need time for relaxation as well as study while engaged in your degree programme. Some achieve this by competing at a high level, others by competing at some level, and the majority by just participating. Engaging in healthy recreational activities also affords the opportunity of making new friends. A brochure, Physical Recreation and Sport is available and gives full details of the various programmes offered through the Department of Sport.
