Welcome message from Head of Department
Department of Microelectronic Engineering was spun off from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Microelectronics in 1999 to enable increased emphasis to be placed on Microelectronics education at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
A unique feature of the Department is its strong symbiotic relationship with industry. Researchers from the Tyndall National Institute and Design engineers from local multinational Microelectronic Design companies lecture part-time in the degree programmes and supervise postgraduate students.
