Online Researcher
A wide range of research resources is now available online. This page provides guidance on the use of sources within UCC and more widely. This page will be updated and extended periodically; please check back.
Networked Resources within UCC
The Boole Library is the main repository of online resources for researchers in the humanities. The Library Catalogue may be accessed online from within and beyond the campus.
Online Databases
One of the main means of obtaining access to research materials is via electronic databases incorporating contents of journals and reviews. Consult the Boole Library Guide to these sources.
- First Search: includes MLA bibliographies; you should refer to the Quick Guide on First Search and the First Search Guided Tour for information on the use of this package
- JSTOR (a not-for-profit organization providing access to contents of a range of journals, including Representations, Yale French Studies, Speculum)
- Literature Online (English-language sources published by Chadwyck-Healey)
- Web of Science (a citation database, including arts and humanities indexes)

- Further databases may be consulted on CD-ROM in the Arts and Multimedia section of the Library on Q+3.
