Welcome to the Food Industry Training Unit
In recognition of the growing importance of continuing professional education and training in the Food and related industries. University College Cork established a Food Industry Training Unit (FITU) in the Faculty of Food Science and Technology in 1993. The objective of the FITU is to coordinate policy and activities associated with the research, training, continuing education and professional development needs of those at work in the food industry.

The Food Industry Training Unit works in close association with FÁS, Enterprise Ireland, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland, the Food Safety Promotion Board, CAIS, the Local Authority Veterinary Service, the Irish Co-operative Organisation Society, the Dissemination Project of the Department of Agriculture and Food, Food Institutional Research Measure and Teagasc and also with the Faculty of Food Science and Technology, BioTransfer Unit, the Centre for Adult and Continuing Education and the Faculty of Commerce, University College Cork.
