Bertram Windle (Medical) Building

The Medical Building was built in stages between 1860 and 1880. The Medical Faculty at UCC quickly established itself, gaining a reputation for the quality of its graduates. The first two women to graduate in medicine in Ireland did so in 1898, yet it was not until 1920 that women were permitted to sit for degrees in medicine at Oxford.
