Castlewhite Apartments
UCC Castlewhite Apartments opened in 1991. They were named after a large 18th century dwelling house, formerly known as Castle White, which occupied land stretching from College Road to Western Road. The original house, which was subsequently occupied by a residential charity - Lapps - was destroyed by fire in 1977 and subsequently demolished. All that remains is the Gate Lodge next to the apartments on Western Road.
The facility caters for tour groups, families, conferences, summer schools and activity holidays during the summer months. During term, the apartments are let to UCC students.
