Scholarships and Grants
Through a Lectureship co-funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) the Department is able to facilitate and promote applications for Scholarships to study at German universities outside of established ERASMUS-links.
The DAAD offers a wide range of study opportunities in Germany, both for undergraduate and post-graduate students of virtually all subject areas. Special programs are available for PhD-students, junior scholars and senior members of staff.
The DAAD also provides funding on a competitive basis for university summer course grants and group study visits to Germany.
Especially for Students of German at Irish Universities the DAAD offers a one year study grant to spend a year at a German university.
The Department congratulates...
? Emily Kennedy, Second Year Arts, on being awarded a DAAD-Scholarship to spend a year at Hamburg University and research her project on intercultural differences in the use of mobile phones between Ireland and Germany?.
?and Colette O?Donovan who won the essay-competition for Second Year Students of German on why to study German sponsored by the Austrian embassy?
Ganz herzlichen Glückwunsch!
