Government of Ireland Ph.D. Scholarship

Catherine Burke has been awarded a Government of Ireland Scholarship by the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences. She is the fourth student in recent years to receive one of these awards, following Niamh Sweeney, Catherine MacGillycuddy and Angela O'Flaherty.

Promotion to Associate Professor

Professor Grace Neville was appointed Associate Professor in French by the Governing Body on 13 June 2006.

Headship of Department

Professor Grace Neville has been appointed Head of Department for three years from 1 October 2006.
