- MIT's OpenCourseWare (over 2000 courses available online, includes free lecture notes, exams, videos etc)
- Open University's LearnSpace (over 600 courses available, from introductory to advanced levels)
- Oxford on iTunesU (features public lectures, teaching material, interviews with leading academics)
- Oxford's podcast archive (as of November 2011, there were 350 series, containing over 3000 items)
- Stanford on iTunesU
- Yale's OpenYale site (contains free and open access to a selection of introductory courses taught by distinguished teachers and scholars at Yale)
- Princeton have uploaded an archive of recorded lectures (in no particular order)
- UC Berkeley
- Carnegie Mellon's Open Learning Initiative offers an 'open' version of many of their 'academic' courses (same teaching materials, but no assessment or accreditaion in the 'open' versions)
- LSE have recently (Oct 2011) produced a very handy (pdf) guide to using twitter in academic teaching and research
